She hides my booze or pours it out. And she takes the kids to Grandma’s, Then she calls a friend… She phones a friend to pout About Me. Stupid boss wants me at work. He says I don’t show up enough. He don’t understand, Five p.m’s too late, eight a.m’s… Eight a.m’s too rough …on Me. Doctor says I’m just depressed. Prescribes me pills and says to take Tums for upset stomach And two aspirin… only two… For my bad headache. Fifty Dollars!!! Judge said I should come in here. ‘Cause if he sees me one more time, It’s off with me to jail, And I pay, yes I pay… A thousand dollar fine. I need help. You stand there and say to me “Some of those people might be right.” “That my thinking’s all screwed up” and you will help, you could help… help me change my life. Ha! Right! Guess you don’t understand. It ain’t about how much I drink. The world out there, and people, Yes, the people need to change… Change the way they think… About Me.
