Note: Supposedly George came to America with his brother Ernest who moved to Colorado
Hmmm .... There is a William E. Pears who appears on the 1900 Census in Colorado: age 35, born June 1864 in England, William E. Pears, year of immigration 1881,
in U.S. 19 years, occupation: railroad laborer

There are borders in the household - it is hard to read because it is smudged at the bottom of the page
one if Floyd Peckenpough(?) from Iowa, Herbert Ewards from Iowa, William ?? from Wisconsin - [Note: that his wife was born in MS, did he marry in MS and then move to CO?]
If this is George's brother then he was born after the 1861 census in England - I don't have the 1871 or the 1881 census in England - The 1881 Census of George's father's house shows that they did have a son named Ernest who was born abt 1864. George is not in the household, but he should have already immigrated to the US - So, they did not come to the US together, but it does seem that he had a brother named Ernest who followed him to the US, after the 1881 England Census.

| Mrs. George Pears | Dies At Vicksburg | Services Held Here |
Funeral services for Mrs. Eveline(sic) Elizabeth Pears, widow of the late George Pears, were held at the First Methodist Church in Water Valley on Sunday afternoon, Sept. 7. Mrs. Pears died at the home of her daughter Mrs. D. L. Gregory, in Vicksburg on Friday night, Sept. 5. Had she lived until Dec. 20, she would have been 89 years old.
Rev. T. H. Dorsey, Rev. H. H. Wallace, and Rev. J. W. Holliday officiated at the burial rites for this good woman, extolling her many virtues and speaking words of comfort to the bereaved. She was laid to rest beneath a mound of beautiful flowers in Oak Hill Cemetery. Water Valley Funeral Home was in charge of local arrangements.
Mrs. Pears was born in Lafayette County and grew to young womanhood there. In 1881 she became the bride of George Pears and for a number of years they made their home near Oxford.
Later they moved to Water Valley, where they resided until Mr. Pears' death in 1935. A few years later Mrs. Pears went to Vicksburg to live with her daughter.
She lived a full, rich life that was a benediction to all who knew her. A member of the First Methodist Church, she took an active part in the religious work of this community as long as she was able. She was the mother of the late Mrs. W. A. Nolen.

Subject: RE: WD Gean and Arkansas Comment
At some point in Walter's history, he worked on a government camp program, as a carpenter, or instructor in
carpentry ... but I think it was under FDR's Presidency ... the initials CCC come to mind, and I think that was a "New Deal" program. I have a magazine rack that he made during that period. I also have a fireplace ash shovel that he made at some point, out of wrought iron. I played with it in their home when I was small, and we lived with them for a time. Frances Earl might remember more. That AR history will show up somewhere in the family stories as some
anecdote ... check with the older grandchildren ofWD and Roxie ... Larry might even know ...
